Bishop, Dr. Wash Carthon Jr. - Senior Pastor

 

Bishop Wash Carthon Jr., Ph.D., was born in Marion, Arkansas. He is the son of the late Wash Sr. and Bernice Carthon.  He graduated from high school in West Memphis AR, in May of 1978. He is married to Susan L. Carthon and has three beautiful children, son Earl and daughters LaJuanda and Tonya; in addition, he has five grandchildren. After accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savoir, he realized that there was a call upon his life to pursue ministry as a Gospel preacher at the very early age of 12. He was ordained as a Deacon at age 14 at New Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church in West Memphis, AR. Bishop Carthon’s main objective is focused towards winning the young, and as well as the elderly, for the kingdom of God and helping them to accept the Word as a standard way of living while becoming more prosperous during their walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

Bishop Carthon enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1978. He attended the Navy War College, numerous military leadership and management instructional schools. Bishop Carthon’s professionalism has escalated from his attendance and approach to higher education. He earned his Associate Degree (AGS) from Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas, Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, and Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University St. Louis, Missouri. He is a graduate of International Apostolic University of Grace and Truth, Dayton, Ohio, where he earned his Master and Doctoral Degrees in Christian Counseling. Bishop Carthon retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 from the U.S. Navy after completing thirty-one years of Honorable Service.

 

After seeking God for 40 days through fasting and praying, according to Acts 19:9, he organized and is presently the Senior Pastor and founder of School of Tyrannus International Ministries, Inc., located in Newport News and Portsmouth, Virginia. His primary focus is on the ministerial elements of outreach in the local communities and foreign missions. In addition, he is the Overseer of the Ark of The Covenant Ministries Inc. located in Millington, Tennessee, were he installed Jacqueline Temple as Pastor in March of 2016.  Bishop Carthon received his Ordination and Licensed Apostle Credentials on the 9th day of August in the year of 2013 at The New Cathedral of GWHT, Memphis, Tennessee under the pastorate of Apostle Libra Thompson-Coats.

Bishop Carthon became a member and received his Elder Ministerial License in the year of 1988, at Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church, San Diego California under the leadership of Bishop, Dr. Donnie McGriff. In the year of 1990, during Bishop Carthon’s assignment at Lakehurst, New Jersey, he established and organized Jesus Christ Armed Forces Ministry were he started his Pastoral work. He was licensed and ordained as a Pastor by the late Bishop Wayne S. Davis, D.D., who was the Senior Pastor of World Won for Christ Ministries, First Apostolic Church of Inglewood, CA.  Bishop Carthon was the first Pastor from Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church that planted a church in Lakehurst, NJ under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Donnie McGriff.   In addition, he organized a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and instructed stress management classes to Sailors and their families. He is currently working with the Drug Court in the City of Newport News, VA as an alcohol and drug facilitator, teaching the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous program.

 

Bishop Carthon was employed as a government contractor with Zeiders Enterprises Inc., in Norfolk, VA working as an Education Service Trainer from September 2013 to May 2015. His responsibilities included teaching U.S. Navy Sailors and their families regarding the awareness of Navy Operational Stress Control. In addition, he has successfully completed training and is certified as a Navy Operational Stress Control Facilitator. Bishop Carthon started a business as an Independent Associate at World Financial Group Inc.; he is dedicated to changing the financial future of individuals and families across North America by helping them to protect their dreams. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts Degree at Liberty University to become a professional licensed Mental Health Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Additionally, he is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Since 1987, Bishop Carthon has established and organized ministries in various cities and onboard naval ships wherein hundreds of souls were saved, baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit. After hearing his anointed powerful teaching and preaching, your life will be completely changed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop on December 16, 2017 by Bishop, Dr. Donnie N. McGriff of Christ Temple International Ministries-Fellowship of Churches.
